"Now more than ever we must be bold. In these times of crisis, when we are tempted to look inward, it is precisely the time when we must move pursuit of the common good to the top of the agenda. While recently we have heard much in the US about how problems on Wall Street are affecting innocent people on Main Street, we need to think more about those people around the world with no streets“

just talking about it can make no difference, we really need to plan some very strong strategies to curb this....just few social activists or workers cannot address this issue, instead everyone should be sensitized to come in front to stand up for this issue and take action......

Although Pakistan is facing difficulties in achieving the MDG But the will of Pakistani people to overcome the crisis make us optimistics that we will overcome all the obstacle on the way of MDG targets and we will meet them in 2015. However, there is a dire need to create awarness in this regard to the common people, and the political as well as administrative leader ship working at gross root levels(districts/union council level), so that a collective effort may be made to achieve the MDGs in 2015. .

The ongoing corrupt practices of the governments is posing a threat for sustainable development and elimination of poverty. The fraternity of MDGs should come forward to help all the grass root level leaders anywhere in this world who work for this mission of END POVERTY 2015. .

we appeal the Govt. Of India to do the needful for achieving the MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS before 2015..
“2010 marks the tenth year of Millennium Development Goals which were formulated in 2000. With only five more years to fulfill these goals, it becomes imperative for all stakeholders to work together to accelerate progress on the goals. We are extremely happy with the support that our partners have offered, across India and globally towards achieving the MDGs. We are grateful to actor Kunal Kapoor who has lent his support for the campaign. As world leaders convene for the MDG Review Summit in New York at the UN this September, they will take with them voices of the millions of people living in poverty across the world.”
10 years ago, India made a promise. A promise to end poverty, educate children and provide good health for everyone. All this by 2015, a deadline that isn’t too far from today… Join me to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015…a small effort but will mean a whole lot to millions in our country.
10 years ago, India made a promise…. a promise to end poverty, educate our children and provide health and security for all. All this by 2015, a deadline that isn’t too far from today. But it’s possible to achieve this if we all decide to take action now. Join me to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
Das saal pehle, is desh ne ek vaada kiya tha.Vaada.
“It’s a tragedy that nearly two million children die before their 5th birthday each year in India. What’s even more shocking is that most of these deaths are due to preventable or treatable illnesses like pneumonia and diarrhoea. It’s time for this to change. We know that simple steps can be taken to keep children alive. Every child is born with a right to survive. EVERY ONE of us has a role to play in saving children’s lives. Each of us can make a change. Together we can stop children ever dying needlessly.”
“We know the solutions. EVERY ONE of us has a part to play in tackling the obstacles that prevent children from getting what they need to keep them alive. And we know that one of these obstacles is the fact our children don't have access to the healthcare they need. We have the means to do it. That's why I'm urging EVERY ONE to do their bit.”
“Children are the most important part of a society, but they are also the lowest in the ladder and they don’t have a voice. Their needs and rights need to be safeguarded by us adults. EVERY ONE talks of the very basic human right – right to life of every child. I think that we all need to do our little bit. As Gandhi says, and I love this quote: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” So if we want to see a change, then we better be a part of it.”
“The moment has come for India to act and, act decisively. Are we going to consign the unacceptably high rates of child mortality to our country’s past, or will we allow the deaths of nearly 2 million children every year to become an indelible stain,”
“In its own small way, ChildFund has made some significant contributions towards realization of the Millennium Development Goals, especially on those goals and indicators that are directly related to the children. Here are some of the ways ChildFund has contributed to the achievement of these: a) developing successful evidence-based program models on key areas like reducing malnutrition, improving school quality or ensuring gender parity; b) mobilizing local communities, youth and children from the deprived, excluded and vulnerable groups to take action on the issues of child survival and development including demanding for better services to the Government; c) promoting complementary and supportive partnership with the Government systems, sometimes supporting the Government support systems to strengthen local level service delivery; d) promoting youth spokespersons for MDG/related issues”
"Ten years after the signing of the Millennium Declaration, India appears to be seriously off-track on a number of MDGs including those on hunger, infant mortality, maternal mortality, and women's empowerment. Urgent action will be required in the next five years--with a detailed action plan right down to the district level --on how to accelerate the implementation of policies and programs that can help to get India back on track with a view to attaining the MDGs in the next five years by 2015, as has been committed at the highest levels of the Indian government. To turn this commitment into a reality, the 12th Five Year Plan needs to be built around this commitment."
“An early, and seemingly obvious step to tackling poverty would be acknowledging the poor - acknowledging their individual identity.”
“For the common people, transparency and accountability means (Hamara Paisa, Hamara Hissaab) - Our money, our accounts." To uphold the Right to Live, you must uphold and fight for the Right to Know!
